INFANT BAPTISM:
Any parents desiring to baptize a child must be registered at the parish and attending mass here for at least 6 months. Baptism preparation classes for parents and godparents are offered quarterly at St. Bernard. Parents and/or Godparents who have completed a baptism preparation program within the last 5 years will not need to take the preparation classes.
Baptism intake forms are available below or the parish office. Each Godparent must fill out a Sponsor Certificate and have it signed and sealed by their parish priest. Godparents must submit their sacramental records for Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation with their sponsor certificate. There must be at least one Catholic Godparent for baptism.
UNBAPTIZED CHILDREN OVER THE AGE OF SEVEN:
Canon Law mandates that children who have not been baptized, and are over the age of 7, possess the age of reason and therefore must undergo at least a full year of religious formation in the Order of Christian Initiation program prior to being baptized.
The child would then receive all the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation) during the Easter Vigil.
